Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Synoptro LLC ("Synoptro," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit synoptro.com, join an interest list or waitlist, purchase a digital product, engage us for services, or otherwise interact with us.
Who we are
Synoptro is operated by Synoptro LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company.
Information we collect
We may collect information in the following ways.
Information you provide directly
If you contact us, subscribe to a mailing list, join a waitlist, purchase a product, apply to participate in a program, or otherwise submit information through our website, we may collect information such as:
- name
- email address
- company name
- billing information
- any other information you choose to provide
Payment and purchase information
If and when we offer live checkout for a specific product or program, the applicable payment processor, merchant-of-record provider, checkout provider, or invoicing platform may collect information needed to process the transaction, including payment method, billing address, and transaction details.
Consulting or custom service engagements may use a different payment workflow than digital products or future programs. The applicable payment provider or invoicing method will be identified at the time of payment and will process information according to its own policies.
We do not store full payment card details on our own servers.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical and usage information such as:
- IP address
- browser type
- device type
- operating system
- pages viewed
- referring URLs
- approximate location data derived from IP address
- interactions with the site
This information may be collected through cookies, analytics tools, or similar technologies.
How we use information
We may use the information we collect to:
- provide access to purchased products, future programs, or services
- process orders and communicate about purchases
- respond to support requests and inquiries
- send newsletters, updates, and marketing communications you have opted into
- administer waitlists, interest lists, community participation, future program enrollment, or events
- improve our website, products, services, and customer experience
- detect fraud, abuse, or misuse
- comply with legal obligations
Third-party services
We may use third-party services to operate our business, including services for:
- payment processing and merchant-of-record services
- analytics
- email communications
- forms and surveys
- customer support
- hosting and infrastructure
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Examples currently include:
- Polar Software Inc. ("Polar.sh"): merchant of record for digital product transactions on synoptro.com. Polar processes payment information, billing addresses, transaction records, and the values you provide at checkout, including terms-of-service agreement, optional marketing opt-in, and optional referral source. Polar applies its own privacy policy, available at polar.sh/legal/privacy.
- Plunk (self-hosted on our infrastructure) and AWS SES for newsletter, lifecycle, and transactional email delivery. After a digital product purchase, Polar relays the order details to Plunk so we can send a welcome email and retain a customer record.
- Cloudflare for site hosting, content delivery, and bot defense (including Cloudflare Turnstile on form submissions).
- Umami for privacy-respecting traffic analytics.
- Anthropic for the AI-powered DesignOps Friction Finder (see below).
Customer record information
When you purchase a digital product, we retain a customer record in our email system (Plunk) regardless of whether you opted into marketing emails at checkout. The record includes your email address, billing name as provided to Polar, the products you purchased, the purchase date, and a reference to the originating Polar order. We retain this information so that we can:
- send a transactional welcome email and any future product updates related to a kit you own
- verify ownership if you contact us about a kit you have purchased
- maintain accurate business records for accounting, tax, and customer-service purposes
Marketing emails (newsletter and promotional content) are sent only if you opted in at checkout or subscribed elsewhere on the site. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, without affecting your ability to receive transactional or product-related communications related to a purchase.
DesignOps Friction Finder
When you use the Friction Finder tool at synoptro.com/friction-finder/, your two short answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing so that the tool can generate a customized artifact. We do not store the conversation on our own servers.
If you opt into the post-tool follow-up by providing your email address, we store your email and the path your conversation routed to (e.g. "intake," "handoff," "rituals," "scorecard," "clarity") in our email service so we can send a welcome email, a single 2-week check-in, and any future newsletters you have opted into. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, analyze traffic, and improve performance.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.
Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations.
If you request deletion of your information, we will review and process the request subject to any legal or contractual obligations requiring retention.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you
- request correction of inaccurate information
- request deletion of your information
- object to or restrict certain processing
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
